AMA Going Green

AMA is serious about working in a ‘greener’ way, an environmentally conscious company we are taking steps to implement an environmental policy and are working towards BS89001 for delivery of sustainable events.

We believe in green is good, but practical green is best. We have a conscience, we want to save our planet, and we look to adopt the best green solutions in an intelligent way.

Environmental Policy

We recognise that our operations have an impact on the environment and we are committed to reducing these. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously as we grow and so develop in a sustainable manner.

We are committed to continually improving our environmental performance. We are developing environmental performance indicators to help us to assess our current and future level of environmental performance and encourage our clients to do so also. This will also enable us to benchmark our performance against similar companies and industry standards.

It is our Policy to:

  • Encourage on-line bookings for events, we developed our own online registration application in 2004 and currently 95% of our bookings are processed this way
  • Integrate environmental management into our day-to-day business operations to ensure environmental issues are addressed, whilst providing the best quality service to all our customers
  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and requirements
  • Reduce our use of natural resources such as energy and water
  • Reuse resources whenever possible rather than dispose of them
  • Encourage the use of recycled materials and recycling initiatives
  • Prevent pollution by reducing emissions and discharges
  • Provide appropriate environmental training for all our people
  • Working towards a paperless office

Our main environmental objectives are:

  • Reduce waste sent to landfill
  • Increase recycling of all types of waste and consumables
  • Reduce water consumption per employee
  • Reduce energy consumption per employee
  • Consider all green energy supplier
  • Use suppliers with good environmental procedures

Sustainable Event Management System

AMA requires that all our suppliers employed in the production of an event, contribute towards our sustainable event management system.

We are committed to the delivery of sustainable events, from recycling badges and online registration to the reduction of and best disposal of food and beverage waste.

Our mission is: To deliver greener events by developing relationships with greener suppliers and constantly researching best fit green solutions.

It is our Policy to:

  • Reduce the use of natural resources and CO2 emissions by considering venues closer to the audience and public transport
  • Consider venues with strong environmental policies in development/place with solutions for recycling, reduction and best disposal of waste and policies for energy reduction and lower water consumption
  • Research all materials for greener solutions including badges, printed materials and giveaways
  • Reduce our energy consumption as above, by reducing our time in travelling using electronic resources where we are able

To this end we have set objectives as follows to:

  • Reduce waste sent to landfill
  • Increase recycling of all types of waste and consumables
  • Reduce water consumption per delegate, staff, speaker, guest and exhibitor alike
  • Reduce energy consumption per delegate, staff, speaker, guest and exhibitor alike
  • Use suppliers with good environmental procedures in this supply chain
